Open Text Fax Server, RightFax Edition 9.4 has been specially designed to raise usability. At the same time, it provides improved configuration and administration tools that help you to work more efficiently and reduce costs.  Fax Server, RightFax Edition 9.4 continues to deliver secure, integrated and secure solutions for Fax over IP (FoIP), MFP fax, desktop and email fax, and ERP faxing.  Fax Server 9.4 delivers:

A more streamlined and simplified installation and setup

New advancements deliver

  • A single, easy-to-follow installation DVD;
  • Enhanced setup options including
    • Single setup step for Open Text Fax Server 9.4 service accounts,
    • Advanced database configuration page,
    • Windows authentication defined at setup, and
    • Port reservations; as well as
  • A Centralized Service Account Editor tool for service account configuration-all in one convenient place.

Unassisted online product licensing with Product Licensing Utility (PLU)

A new PLU replaces the previous legacy “bump” process for product licensing. Fully-integrated into the setup program, it allows installers to activate Open Text Fax Server 9.4 during setup. Now adding, upgrading, or changing your feature set only requires your product licensing information and an active Internet connection.

Improved SQL service account

Improvements to the Open Text Fax Server 9.4 SQL connection string editor provide a simple and convenient tool for modifying the SQL connection string and changing the database authentication method.

Enhanced reporting and auditing

An SQL compatible reporting tool called Enterprise Fax Reporter replaces the previous legacy Fax Reporter program. It delivers improved SQL query performance, a new intuitive interface, and 30 new built-in reports.

Updated server and system support

Open Text Fax Server 9.4 now supports Active Directory 2008, works with Vista, and is Certified on Windows 2003. 32-bit client applications are supported on the x64 editions of Windows XP and Windows Vista. Connector for Exchange 2007 supports Windows Server 2008 Standard x64 and Enterprise x64.

Enhanced Fax over IP support -T.38 FoIP/V.34 Endpoint, T.38 FoIP/V.34 Gateway

Fax over IP environments with a multi-router topology may now configure Open Text Fax Server 9.4 (via dialling rules) for real-time FoIP fail-over. When the primary FoIP router or gateway is unavailable or times out, faxes are automatically routed to a secondary router or gateway.

Improved OCR performance

A new and robust RecoStar OCR engine provides improved OCR performance via the Open Text Conversion Engine. Output text quality has been further enhanced to support a wider range of font types and sizes as well as more than 15 languages.

More advanced client and email options

Additional feature-rich client tools and email integrations have been added to improve usability and provide end users with greater control, management, and tracking capabilities. Highlights include

  • Drag and drop feature to create a fax;
  • Ability to include a copy of the fax with notifications;
  • Improved language selection with Web access; and
  • New inbox sorting, searching, and filtering options.
